I recently visited the work shop of Andy Newlands of Strawberry. Andy had some of the nicest machinery I have ever seen in a frame building shop. By scanning the 2,600 square feet of his workshop you can really tell that he has been doing this for a long time. In fact, he has been building bicycle frames since 1971 after visiting England and getting inspired by various craftsmen in that country. Everything in his shop is carefully laid out and organized. One of the main fixtures in his shop is his Italian made frame jig by Marchetti, a company for whom he represents. Andy couldn’t have been more welcoming and it was great meeting up with him.
